Mullikin's Delight (01-22)
❧ ✦ ❧

Historical narrative
Mullikin's Delight was a large slaveholding plantation in Mitchellville. The surviving main house consists of two small frame cottages connected by a passageway. The larger cottage was built before 1750 for James Mullikin, whose family lived in the home for six generations. The local train station and the early- to mid-20th-century Mullikin School at Mullikin Crossing were named for the Mullikin family. Mullikin Crossing was depicted in separate watercolors elsewhere in this collection.
