Marshall Hall from the Air (05-04)

Historical narrative
Seen from the air on a bright summer day, Marshall Hall appears as a lively riverside amusement park nestled among towering trees along the Potomac River. A long pier stretches into the sparkling water, where the S.S. Mount Vernon has just arrived, bringing a boatload of eager visitors from Washington, DC. Crowds stream up the dock toward the heart of the park, creating a ribbon of activity from the shoreline inland. The white wooden roller coaster dominates the left side of the scene, its latticework structure rising above the treetops. Nearby, a carousel, picnic pavilions, and open gathering areas invite families to spend the day outdoors. Beyond the attractions, the historic Marshall Hall estate can be seen, with rolling fields and wooded hills framing the estate and resort. It was a true carefree summer playground beside the river.
