Dumser's Dairyland (04-14)

Historical narrative
In the early 1960s, a stop at Dumser's Dairyland was one of the sweetest traditions of an Ocean City vacation. Established in 1939 as a frozen-custard stand, the business later became Dumser's Dairyland and a beloved Ocean City tradition. The business became known for its rich ice cream, frozen custard, and old-fashioned Boardwalk atmosphere. After a day on the beach or an evening stroll along the boardwalk, families gathered beneath the bright lights of the stand to enjoy a cool treat. The scent of freshly made waffle cones mixed with the salty ocean breeze as customers debated flavors and watched towering sundaes being prepared. Children eagerly licked melting cones while parents relaxed and shared stories of the day. The sounds of laughter, passing cars, and summer music filled the warm evening air. For countless visitors, Dumser's was not merely an ice cream stand—it was a cherished Ocean City memory.
