A Little Steve on the Beach, 1953 (04-07)

Historical narrative
On a bright summer day in 1953, Steve knelt at the edge of the ocean, completely absorbed in building his masterpiece. He was six years old. Using wet sand gathered from the gentle surf, he carefully formed tall drip-castle towers, watching with delight as each sandy spire rose higher than the last. The warm sun shone overhead while cool waves occasionally crept close enough to threaten his creation. Around him, families relaxed on the beach, children played in the surf, and laughter drifted through the salty air. In the distance, amusement rides and the busy boardwalk added excitement to the scene. Proud of his work, little Steve imagined he was constructing a grand seaside kingdom, enjoying one of those perfect summer afternoons remembered for a lifetime.
